It is going to be a very busy year for Aishwarya Rai . She not only has Mani Ratnam’s gruelling ’Ravan with husband Abhishek Bachchan to complete, she also begins work on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next movie, with Hrithik Roshan, to be shot in Goa. But before that she goes into filmmaker Vipul Shah’s next film with Akshay Kumar in the lead. Both Vipul and Akshay, who are co-producing the film, were very keen to get Aishwarya for what they describe as a genre-breaking drama.

Aishwarya has also signed up Excel Entertainment’s untitled thriller to be directed by Abhinay Deo, who is currently busy shooting his directorial debut "Delhi Belly". For the film, Aishwarya will once again team up with hubby Abhishek .

Confirming the news, Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment said: "It would be a very stylish thriller to be shot entirely in Greece, Thailand, Istanbul and London.

"My director Abhinay Deo and I want a particular look for the film. We’re trying to get the DOP (director of photography) of the new Nike international commercial. If not, there’s Jason West who shot our ’Rock On!’. He can capture that subtle sleek look which the subject demands. We want the film’s visual quality to be something never experienced by our audience." The film would be Aishwarya’s second with Abhishek after ’Ravan’.

Govinda’s career graph is on a downhill now and since her daughter Narmada is now ready to face the camera and the anxious father has decided to produce her debut film himself.

‘Narmada will launch her film career anytime in 2009. I feel today she is emotionally ready to face the camera,’ said Govinda adding, “After weighing all the pros and cons, I decided I’m the best person to produce my daughter’s debut film. I don’t want anyone else, no matter how well-meaning, to take the credit for launching my daughter.”

Govinda is considering Nikhil Advani and Shaad Ali for directing the film. “Ideally, I’d have liked Narmada to be launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He is among our best. But since that is not possible, we’re looking at some other names. My daughter has to be directed by someone who has a vision and an aesthetic sense and also respects the work that I do,” said the actor.

As for himself, Govinda wants to slow down his pace and has stopped signing new films or taking up rputine roles. He has decided to work only with directors who are as organised and disciplined as Mani Ratnam.

Alas! 2008 merely had only one release for Dhanush ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ produced under his home banner RK Productions. So, what’s the New Year resolution of Dhanush is that he would be acting in as many films as possible and eyeing for the release of at least 3 flicks this year. With his recent release ‘Padikadhavan’ doing moderately at box office, his next film directed by Jawahar is almost completed. This film titled ‘Kutty’ is a remake of Telugu film ‘Aarya’ and Shriya Charan pairs up with Dhanush.

Meanwhile discussions are going on with Vetrimaaran to discuss about their next film. Shooting would be held in Madurai and Trisha as female lead dons the role of an Anglo-Indian girl. Apart from these ones, Dhanush and his brother Selvaraghavan would be taking up a quickie after the completion of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. The film titled ‘Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ features Dhanush and Andrea in lead roles.
